Privacy Policy
Last updated on August 25, 2026
Welcome to Pars Auto Market (“we”, “us”, “our”). We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website parsautomarket.com, including any other media form, media channel, mobile website, or mobile application related or connected thereto (collectively, the “Site”).
By using the Site, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways, including:
a. Personal Data
Personally identifiable information, such as:
-
Name
-
Email address
-
Phone number
-
Mailing address
-
Payment details (via secure third-party processors)
-
Vehicle and auto parts information
-
User account credentials
-
ZIP code, where you provide one for a listing or to browse parts near you
a1. Location Information
To support local in-person meetups and the "parts near you" map, we collect and store ZIP codes: the ZIP a seller sets on a listing, and the ZIP a buyer sets as their own location. We convert each ZIP to the approximate geographic centre of that ZIP code area and store that coordinate.
-
We never publish a street address. The most anyone ever sees is a city, a state, and a map pin at the ZIP-code centre, never where you live or where the item is kept. Every listing in the same ZIP code shares the same pin.
-
How much of that a buyer sees depends on how the item can be collected. If a listing offers local pickup, its page shows the city, state and a map of the surrounding area, because a buyer has to know how far they would be driving before contacting you. If a listing is shipping only, its page shows the state and nothing else, for example "Ships from California": no city, no ZIP code, and no map. The city and ZIP are not merely hidden on those listings, they are not sent to your browser at all.
-
The "parts near you" map is the one exception. A map is a proximity tool and a pin has to be where the part is, so listings appear on it at their ZIP-code centre with their city named, including shipping-only listings whose own page shows only the state. Browsing the map close to a pin will therefore tell you the city a seller is in. It is still the ZIP-code centre and never a street address. If you would rather not appear at that level of detail, a listing is only ever plotted from the ZIP on it, which you control.
-
We do not track your device location. The "Use my location" button on the map asks your browser for a one-time position, uses it to centre the map in your browser, and does not send it to us or store it. You can decline it and type a ZIP instead.
-
Your location appears on your public profile as a city and state. The ZIP you set as your own location is used to sort and filter listings for you, and the city and state it resolves to are shown on your public profile so someone considering a meetup can tell roughly where you are. Your ZIP code itself, and the coordinate we derive from it, are never shown to anyone.
-
We may estimate your general area from your IP address. If you have not set a ZIP code, we may use your IP address to estimate the city you are browsing from, so the map opens somewhere useful instead of empty. This is only an estimate and is frequently imprecise. It is never saved to your account. Your stored location only ever changes when you enter and save a ZIP code yourself. These lookups are performed by a third-party IP geolocation service, and only the IP address is sent.
-
ZIP codes are resolved to coordinates using a public US ZIP code lookup service. Only the ZIP code is sent, never your name, account, or any other identifier.
You can change or clear the location on your account at any time. Removing it stops distance sorting and nothing else.
b. Derivative Data
Information our servers automatically collect when you access the Site, such as:
-
IP address
-
Browser type
-
Operating system
-
Access times
-
Pages visited
c. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies, listed below so you can see exactly what is set and why.
-
Strictly necessary. A session cookie (
pars_auto_market_session) and a security token (XSRF-TOKEN) that keep you signed in and protect our forms against cross-site request forgery. The Site cannot function without these, so they are always set. -
Analytics. Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID
G-X5Z29H5MJ9), which sets_gacookies so we can count visits and see which pages and listings people actually use. Google acts as our service provider for this under Google's data processing terms. We keep Google Signals switched off, have no Google Ads account linked to the property, and have Google's product data-sharing setting disabled, so this data is used to measure our own site, not to target advertising to you elsewhere. -
Payment and fraud prevention. On our checkout page, Stripe sets its own cookies (
__stripe_mid,__stripe_sid) to detect fraudulent payments. These are necessary to take payment safely.
d. Global Privacy Control
If your browser or a browser extension sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of any sharing of your personal information for advertising, and we honor it automatically. In practice we do not load our analytics or advertising tags at all on those visits, so no analytics or advertising cookies are ever set. You do not need an account to do this, you do not need to contact us, and we do not keep a record of the signal itself. Only the strictly necessary cookies above are set.
e. In Our Mobile App
Our iOS app does not use cookies, but it does collect comparable information:
-
A push notification token, issued by Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google), so we can send you alerts about offers, messages, and orders. Google acts as our service provider in delivering these.
-
A random per-install identifier generated on your device the first time you open the app. It lets us count activity consistently before you sign in. It is not your name, your email, or a device serial number, and it is reset if you delete and reinstall the app.
-
In-app activity (the searches you run, the listings you open, and which results you tap) sent to our own servers so we can see what people are looking for and which parts are hard to find. This goes only to Pars Auto Market. It is not sent to any advertising network or analytics company.
-
Payment details, collected and processed by Stripe's software inside the app. We never see or store your full card number.
The app contains no advertising SDKs. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell or share what you do in the app for advertising.

To protect our users from scams, phishing, and fraud, messages sent through our in-platform chat are automatically screened for content that violates our Terms of Service, such as phone numbers, email addresses, links to external websites, off-platform payment requests, and known scam language.
